MARK SCHICK



Mark is the collection manager for the John G. Shedd Aquarium's new Wild Reef, a 550,000-gallon exhibit with more than 400 species of Indo-Pacific reef fish and invertebrates. Mark began at Shedd Aquarium in 1997 as an aquarist for Shedd's marine invertebrate collection.

His areas of expertise include live food culture, coral propagation and aquatic system design. He has spoken at the Marine Ornamentals Conference as well as the Regional Aquatic Workshop and published several articles in hobbyist literature.

Mark participated in scientifically published research for the recruitment and settlement of copper rockfish in Washington, and the cataloging of benthic organisms in Belize. He has a bachelor of science in biology and marine ecology from the University of Alabama.
