...a weekend where you can see live presentations by the most widely known, well-respected authors and lecturers in the marine aquarium hobby.
At the International Marine Aquarium Conference the speakers will be covering all the latest information and research on marine aquarium fish, corals and invertebrates. Meet with them socially, see exhibits by some of the foremost manufacturers and dealers in the aquarium hobby, and get some great deals on conference specials.
IMAC is open to ALL hobbyists . You do not have to belong to a marine aquarium society or even own a reef tank to attend, just be interested in learning more about this fascinating hobby.
IMAC is a non-profit venture by hobbyists for hobbyists to insure the continuation of an annual educational event for aquarists, at a reasonable cost.
Whether you are a seasoned aquarist or just a beginner, IMAC is something you need to take in.
And IMAC is put on each year by the same people, so if you attended IMAC in 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006 you know the high quality of the show that we will put on.
IMAC 2007 will take place in Chicago, Illinois, USA - June 1, 2 and 3.
We just got an extension to May 12 as the last day to get your hotel reservations at the $119/day rate. Click the "About" button above NOW!
IMAC 2008 will be on May 30, 31 and June 1 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chicago. We have heard someone is spreading rumors that IMAC 2008 has been cancelled. Not true. IMAC will go on as scheduled.
This will be the LAST IMAC. I have decided to hang it up after this one. We have tried to find someone or some organization to give IMAC to, but without success. So if you have never been to an IMAC, this will be your last opportunity.
We have just added photos from the IMAC 2006 conference. Just scroll down and you will find the link on the right.
DVDs of 2006 presentations are now available. Click on "IMAC Shopping" on the right.
We have decided to have another "behind-the-scenes" tour of Shedd Aquarium this year for a limited number of attendees. Don't forget to add it to your registration!

Streaming Video
We have just added streaming videos of some IMAC 2005 speakers (complete presentations). Here is Eric Borneman's "Oxygen and the Reef Aquarium" (It is over an hour long, make sure you have time to view it all. And it may take a minute for the video to download.). Eric used very small type on his slides but he reads them aloud so you can follow it. To make the picture bigger just drag the corner of the RealPlayer screen. Make sure to turn off your popup blocker. NOTE: For some reason I can get these videos to play in IE, Netscape and Opera, but not in Firefox. If you do not have Real Player installed you can download a free copy by clicking on the logo at the bottom of this page. Or, clickHERE for the Windows Media Player version. Click HEREto download the latest version of Windows Media Player. Or, click HERE for the DivX MPEG 4 version.
And here is Gregory Schiemer"Fishes in the Reef Aquarium"(about an hour). Click HEREfor the Windows Media version .
We have added 2004 video segments. For starters, here is
Dr. Ron Shimek.
"Myth-Takes About Sand Beds" It is about 30 minutes long so be sure
you have enough time to view it. If you are a newbie, don't be intimidated; this was one of the more technical presentations at IMAC.
And if some points are not clear, remember that these are just clips. Although it is about 30 minutes long, it was taken from a 90 minute presentation.
Some explanations had to be skipped. MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF YOUR POPUP BLOCKER. Click HEREfor the Windows Media Player version. And click HERE for the DivX MPEG 4 version.
Here is Anthony Calfo,"Coral Farming".It is about an hour and a half long (it is virtually his entire presentation),
so make sure you have enough time to watch it all. This may take a half hour or more to download even with a high speed connection. Click HEREfor the dial up version. Or, click HEREfor the Windows Media Player version.
And here is Jeff Mitchell,"Diseases in Hippocampus". (It is about 22 minutes)
You can see a list of last year's speakers and their topics here. and a list of 2005 speakers here. Then you can email me and tell me which speakers you would like to see next. I'll even let you know when they are up.
